}How Predicted Funding Works
Binance perpetuals use an 8-hour weighted average of the premium index (difference between mark price and index price) to calculate the next funding rate. The predicted rate converges toward the actual rate as the settlement time approaches.
A positive predicted rate means longs will pay shorts at the next settlement. A negative rate means shorts will pay longs.
Data Source
Binance FAPI /fapi/v1/premiumIndex (current + predicted) and /fapi/v1/fundingRate (history). Cache TTL: 30 seconds.
